Greased Pigs and other baby fun

Well... the time has begun for yet another change here in Johnson-ville. Apparently the child whom I gave birth to has decided she is more akin to a greased pig than a little lady in training.

ok, enough with the eye rolls.... me saying that Rhena coulda shoulda woulda been a lady in training isn't THAT far fetched, is it????

wait... better not answer that.

anyways... so the new FUN FUN FUN GOTTA DO IT EVERY TIME thing here is that Rhena refuses to sit still for a diaper change.

So I'm sure every parent goes through this, but this does not remove my right to bitch about it.

THE DAMN KID WON'T STAY STILL!!!!!

seriously... as soon as the diaper is off... she sets into action... twist, >>FLIP!!<< , stand up... and run away. this wouldn't be SO much of an issue if she weren't on a changing table some three feet up in the air???? or those fun times when her ass is still covered in shit.... yeah... good times indeed. I'm sure it's just a stage that she'll finish when she learns to... oh, I dunno... USE A REAL TOILET.... but for now.. it's new... and extremely difficult.

I assure you I have tried many methods to keep the little booger occupied and somewhat distracted from the fun fun fun of the baby rodeo... but all roads eventually lead to her streaking through the quad a la Will Ferrell in Old School. I will ALSO assure you that putting a diaper on a standing baby who INSISTS on doing the running man is no easy feat either..... I mean, seriously... throw some leg warmers on this kid, and we have our own little showing of Flashdance going on.

The good news in all of this is that Rhena thinks it's all HYSTERICALLY funny, and hearing her laugh really is the best thing ever..... I just wish I thought she was laughing WITH me... and not AT me.

LOL, I feel your pain. There were times I had to pick Sam's feet up so far he looked like he was standing on his head. He's gotten better recently though, that should give you hope.

I have had times when it has taken me up to 20 minutes to change a damn diaper. It the WWF from hell.

Oh GOD Liam only pulls this shit - literally - when there is a truckload in his diaper. The wet JUICY kind. Yeah. Wish I'd chosen the brown rugs instead of the "dune sand" shade. Have you considered those First Steps pull on/velcro ones? maybe those would be quicker for putting on a clean one? No idea... just saying...

LOL...sorry, I don't mean to laugh at you, I promise I'm not :) Grace hasn't pull that maneuver just yet....not to that level at least. I'm sure she will though.

Hey don't laugh at the duct tape...a friend of mine swore by it with her kid....but he wouldn't leave it on once it was there :)

Good luck! Here's to hoping that you can change her in peace.

Something tells me you weren't far off with that Playboy pose picture. I think you should invest in one of those super soakers so you can just spray her off as she runs away. So long as you have tile and not carpet. If that's the case my only other thought is bungee cord.

I'm sure she is laughing AT you. But now that she has joined my fan club, I must take her side on all issues.

If it makes you feel any better, it took me about fifteen minutes to change my little four month old's diaper today. Everytime I would get her back on the diaper, she would roll over again and start scooting away! If she's started this early, I'm SO not ready for when she's Rhena's age!

HAAAA! Finally. Took Rhena long enough to figure that part out. Dylan's been a wiggle worm for diaper changes since he was about 8 months. Sorry Carrie..it just gets worse!
