Come On And Do It

you know... if everybody took just one day and gave up their venti-mocha-grande-half-caff-skinny-vanilla-chai-lattes, or actually drove PAST the local fast food place instead of ordering a number two super-king-wendy-sized with a diet coke and gave that $5 to the red cross..... a few more people might have water to drink tonight in Lousiana and other areas affected by Katrina.

think about it..... then do something about it.

In other words.... stop pointing the finger and start pulling the thumb.

You..... $5. Make a difference today.

I think you mean - "a few more people might have water to drink..."

but true nonetheless.

Also imagine if a certain someone hadn't cut funding to the New Orleans area but $60 million dollars after being told soemthing like this might happen... 12 million people's 5 bucks, or one man's signature...

Wow - everyone's mind is on this today. I guess we all couldn't hold it in any longer. It just gets worse...

Thanks for being one of the people to do GOOD in a bad situation.

well, duh. hope your reminder was just kind of a thing to type and didnt really have to talk people into helping. we are all grownups... do we need reminding to help those in need? sorry, dont mean to get all bitchy .lol. i didnt have my fat-free skim mochachino this morning . j/j :)

I know you were kidding, Gina... but actually.... I think this IS the kind of stuff people need reminding about.

all too often people belittle their own contributions because it wouldn't be enough to make a difference.... or are quick to blame someone else for what's going on.

I bet if you asked every person you see within the next week what they personally did to help the victims of Katrina that at least one or two will make up a bullshit answer or flat out lie from embarrassment.

HOWEVER.... maybe just maybe that embarrassment they feel will trigger them into doing something.... and that is something that I am not above or below doing. like I said... every dollar and every action counts.

even your local grocery stores will ask you if you want to contribute ... we just do 5 $ a time... not much, but hey , if we put back the doritos and south beach oreo packs, it covers it.
